You know what? Anet should be radical and put a female dwarf on the cover box, hairly, bearded small women ftw!

Anyone else notice the size of the scabbard Jora was carrying in the concept art? What's inside will make a Fellblade look like a toothpick.

I adore the first artwork. She has personality, and look like she has the build to swing that mother of a sword.

Nice nordic features that might be a bit harsh, but she's no kindergarten teacher, she probably eats bears for breakfast.

Minus points to A-net for normalising her so much. My main critique of female toons in GW is that you can't tell their professions from afar.

It is blatantly obvious in the males, especially the warriors and the chippend...paragon.

Of course, there's a risk of ending up like WoW female dwarves. Lets not go there! Thanks A-net.

And most people who play computer games are young, teenage or 20something guys who get turned on by the sight of a scantly clad girl.

Also notice how all the female character are perfectly shaped, with all the right curves!

Y'all would wanna go check out the GW:EN Fan Site Kit in the latest GW website update... it has a HUGE photoshop layered RGB version of Jora... That's some of the finest detailed pixel work I've ever seen in my life. Makes me wish I had a 100 inch plasma monitor.

Stunning work! The GW Art Director is now my best friend.

I don't know about others but a scantily clad girl on front of a game doesn't make any difference as to whether I buy the game or not.. seen as I have more than 1 braincell and are over 13 years old.

A cool looking man would have more influence (no i'm not gay) because you being a man can aspire to be that character (RP ftw).. where as me personally I can't get inspiration from a pretty girl on the front cover.

personally I would say the main characters were:

Prophecies - the Lich/Vizier
Factions - Shiro
Nightfall - Varesh (or possibly Abaddon)

so IMO only one of the main characters is female.

And the Factions manual Characters section shows the same purple haired assassin labeled "Nika". That argument could go all day.

As for chicks on box art, I don't think it increases sales in the sense that male gamers look at the box and suddenly feel an urge to buy. I think what it does do is catch their eye from on the store shelf, which will increase the chances of them picking it up from among the other games to take a closer look. Then maybe they'll read the back and find it interesting enough to slap down $50 for it. That's my theory. Personally I'm a fan of ladies on box art, so I hope it succeeds at whatever it's suppose to accomplish.

www.penny-arcade.com sometimes has a GWEN ad on their site where Jora's, uh, attributes seem to have increased more.

The ad rotates out with other products, so I have no idea how to give a link. If you're a regular to penny arcade, I'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about!

I know Vizu and Nika look exactly alike, but the fact that they used the Vizu image means that it is Vizu on the cover of Factions, not Nika

I bet you Devona on the box would of sold a few more units than Eve anyway I sometime refer to the game as Guild War Girls.

I wonder what the stats are for female to male ratio is in the game.It would surprise me if there were more females than males.

This is clearly the same girl which appears on the cover, is it not? Vizu does not have the same hair as Nika, and the cover clearly does not sport her image. I don't see what you're trying to get at, it's clearly established that the girl is Nika...only the mini resembles Nika yet is labeled Vizu, which I believe isn't very accurate considering Vizu doesn't appear alive in the game, nor does she have the same hair.

Factions had Visu.
But Proph had Eve and some male warrior.

Vizu hair is much shorter than that of Nika and it is parted in the middle not side like Nika.I would say it is Nika on the box not Vizu and Vizu only played a small part in the game.

QFT. Not a chance in the world that it's Vizu on the cover of Factions. That's purple-haired Nikka, no mistaking it and the matching artwork within the manual.

And it is definitely Vizu that helps kill Shiro the first time around is it not?
If you watch the Factions Cinematic you can also see that they look exactly alike.

The image I posted earlier has Vizu standing in front of the Temple (why would it be Nika? Nika wasn't there when this happened.)

Seeing as how that image (of Vizu) was used on the cover of the box, it has to be Vizu, there's no doubt about it

The only one of you with a decent arguement is Nuclfus (Whom I can't think of a reply back to XD)
